A lovely old village pub but with modern ,clean and comfortable ensuite rooms . Everything provided, toiletries ,tea and coffee, water, a booklet providing local amenities and walks. Really friendly owners ,staff and local people. Couldn't have been more helpful . It was woodfired pizza night when we arrived and they were delicious as was our breakfast the following morning. We wanted to stay somewhere near Kynren and this was a perfect place only 10 mins drive. It's also only 15 mins from Raby castle another great place to visit . Definitely recommend this pub !

Lovely place to visit or stay. Great selection of drinks, attentively served by the host George and his team. Welcomed also by friendly locals.

The owners and bartender were awesome. Socializing with the locals was tons of fun. Prices were half to a third of what a bar in the U.S. would be. No hand crafted drinks though.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at The Victoria while attending a nearby wedding. The room was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable. What truly made our stay stand out though was the hospitality - George, Emma & Jess are the friendliest and most welcoming people you could ever meet! They made us feel like part of the family and had some great recommendations for exploring the area. Make sure to also check out the excellent selection of beers at the pub. Can't wait to return!

An excellent pub with great food and atmosphere in a stunning location. A decent range of beers and real ale. All the staff are very friendly and the service is fantastic. We arranged my parents anniversary here and it was brilliant with live entertainment and George handled everything, including the food, perfectly. I would definitely recommend.

Not much to do in the village (the castle is a hotel and camp site but you can go for a long walk and visit) but surrounded by beautiful scenery and lovely walks. Perfect to escape for a night. The actual b&b, can't fault it. They don't serve food for dinner, but they provide a list of places to go, and there's a banging chippy a mile away. Slept like a baby on a big fluffy bed, power shower, everything provided. Pub downstairs if you fancy some company or a pint otherwise left to your own devices. Breakfast was delicious, and I was full all day from it. At your own table(s) (we had the whole pub to ourselves) were served chilled juices, cereals, teas and coffees, condiments and a full English (select what you want and how much) is served to you. Select what breakfast you want via form the night before. Guy was dead lovely and chatty, too! Would definitely stay again and have recommended to my parents and friends to pay a visit.

Been twice, for Thursday quiz night, and it's been lovely. Clean, warm welcome, nice real ales, good bar stack selection and the staff have been very friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit, a real country pub. Use them or lose them.
